The Bunessan melody is a traditional Scottish Gaelic folk tune used for the Christmas carol "Child in the Manger" and later became best known as the melody for the popular hymn "Morning Has Broken," made famous by Cat Stevens. The melody is named after the village of Bunessan on the Isle of Mull in Scotland, which was the birthplace of Mary MacDonald, the original lyricist of "Child in the Manger."
