COVENTRY CAROL is an English Christmas Carol from Coventry, dating back to the 16th century. The oldest known text was recorded by Robert Croo in 1534, and the oldest known notation is from 1591. The song is traditionally sung a cappella, but chords have been noted down should one wish to use accompaniment.
